Pickering is located in northern Ontario in the Canadian region on the Niagara River. It is one of Canada’s premier cities. Overall travel experience over the year by season. Weather in Pickering is generally warm with some showers during July and August, but generally follows a cooler fall and winter. However, in the first week of April, it starts to heat up to a high of around 14 C. By the end of September, the average temperature is in Pickering is close to seven degrees colder than it is now. Temperatures remain consistently hot throughout the entire year, but are not excessively hot. The climate in Pickering is a combination of warm and humid, with a little bit of rainfall.

 

Average precipitation is higher in the spring and summer, but not over six months as it is at the start of the season. In fact, it is much less at the beginning than it is in the end. Most of Canada experiences above average temperatures over about seven days a month. It does get a little colder in the winter, but since there is not significant precipitation, the temperature is not as important as precipitation. The end of summer in Canada has a small amount of rainfall, but does experience a slight increase in average temperature.

 

There are a couple different ways to travel to Pickering. Many people choose to fly into Toronto and then take a railway train south into Pickering. This can be done by purchasing a one way ticket for a trip that will take from the airport to downtown Toronto, or one way fare that can be purchased from the ticket machine once arriving in Pickering.

Another option is to take the train south from the airport, which can be much more economical. However, if one wants to travel by train, there are certain options available. One can travel by a one way fare from the airport to downtown Pickering, as well as from downtown to the railway crossing that crosses the Rideau River. From here, one can either take the train into downtown Toronto or take the cab south to the village of Portersville and then on to downtown Toronto.

 

It is also possible to travel by bus in Pickering. Buses traveling to this area are usually driven by one of two companies – York West or Canadian Pacific. There is also a single line bus service operating in the village of Portersville. However, these buses do charge fares that are higher than those charged for a one way ticket. Another alternative is to use the Rideau County Public transit system, which is also much more cost effective than buses and other modes of transportation.
